Lemonade Gummy Bears
The taste of summer even in the dead of a Wisconsin winter? Sign us all up! These lemonade gummy bears are the perfect little protein-packed snack that your whole family will love.

These lemonade gummy bears are the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. My husband said they’re his new fav and I’m quite sure you will love them, too! My son is the official gummy hype-man and is always encouraging me to make them – ha! It turns out that this is never a treat for which I have any remorse in making or offering, because everything in it is great for you!
The Benefits of Grass-Fed Gelatin
- grass-fed sources offer a better fatty acid profile and higher precursors for vitamins A and E
- a rich source of protein (collagen Type 1 & 3)
- supports joint mobility and stronger bones
- supports gut health by soothing the intestinal lining, reducing inflammation, and improving digestion
- hair, skin, and nail support from the naturally occurring amino acids like glycine and proline
- versatile culinary staple – use it in soups, stews, desserts, and more!

You can use any bovine gelatin for this recipe, but grass-fed bovine gelatin is superior. This one, as well as this one, are two that I oscillate between for our pantry. As for the lemon juice, you can use either fresh or bottled if you don’t have access to fresh lemons. I love this one from Costco.
Homemade gummies are not only great for you, but they are also fun because you can play with different molds. My son adores the classic gummy bear ones and enjoys turning them into a counting game with all his gummy friends – so cute! You can find gummy molds on Amazon or at your local craft store.

- Combine the lemon juice, water, and cane sugar in a large jar and shake until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add mixture to a small saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin on top. Allow gelatin to "bloom."
- Cook mixture on medium until the mixture is warm-hot but not boiling (this activates the gelatin).
- Place molds on a baking sheet and fill the molds with the gelatin mixture.
- Transfer the baking sheet to the fridge and allow the gummies to set for a few hours or overnight.
- Pop the gummies out of the molds and store in an airtight mason jar in the fridge.
