How To Make Tortilla Chips
Tortilla chips from the store are often loaded with inflammatory vegetable oils and other artificial ingredients that are detrimental to our health. You can make healthier chips at home using healthy fats, such as coconut oil, and spices. Making chips from scratch is surprisingly very simple and quick to make. This is a great way to use up any leftover flour tortillas from a taco night.

The beautiful thing about homemade tortilla chips is that you can customize them to your liking! I personally love a basic salted chip, but possibilities are endless with different spices. The trick to making a crunchy chip is to make sure you roll out the flour tortillas very thinly; this will yield a chip with that crunch we all know and love.

What You Will Need
Ingredients:
- flour tortillas
- coconut oil
- sea salt
Equipment:
- cookie sheet
- parchment paper
- pizza cutter
The Method
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place the tortillas on the parchment paper and spread coconut oil on each one. Next, sprinkle your sea salt on top and any additional spices you wish to add.

With your pizza cutter, cut each tortilla in half and then cut each half into three triangles. Bake them for 10 minutes and then open the oven door a crack to allow them to crisp up for another 15-20 minutes.

Don’t forget to make a good dip for your chips, such as salsa, bean dip, guacamole, or cheese sauce. Enjoy!
